The compositions are useful in combination with ultrasound to enhance delivery of a pharmaceutical agent to, for example, tissue of a subject in need thereof. Accordingly, also provided herein are methods involving ultrasound for delivering a pharmaceutical agent to a subject, e.g., a subject that has inflammatory bowel disease or proctitis.
