Project Manus

A web-based portal helping students, faculty, and researchers find spaces with the technology, tools, and equipment they need to make and innovate.

Project Manus ensures that MIT students have the tools, spaces and information they need to make, create and innovate.

Across MIT's campus, there are over 40 major makerspaces equipped with more than 300 different types of equipment. Mobius, a web portal, streamlines the process for students by enabling them to efficiently search for required equipment, ascertain its availability, and determine its location.

The Mobius web portal is available to all members of MIT’s community with a catalog of most makerspaces at MIT along with a tool inventory for each. It also lets you pay for maker supplies with credit card, MakerBucks, or TechCash, and it stores your training credentials earned in MIT makerspaces.

MIT students, faculty, staff, and community members with MIT Touchstone accounts can use the Mobius web portal to locate all of the equipment, makerspaces, and facilities in the Mobius database, check the status of equipment, and pay for materials and machine time. Additionally, facility managers can utilize the web portal to update information regarding their facility, policies, equipment, and user access.
