The MIT Open Access Task Force was commissioned to spearhead a comprehensive Institute-wide dialogue aimed at evaluating how existing MIT Open Access policies and procedures could be refined or adapted to better serve the Institute's mission of disseminating its research and scholarship to the broadest audience possible.
Throughout an extensive two-year period, task force members gathered input from experts within the MIT community and beyond to gain a deeper understanding of local, national, and global standards and policies related to open access. In March, a draft set of recommendations was released for public comment, and the feedback received during this process was integrated into the final report.
