The Lemelson-MIT program has emerged as a prominent national leader in efforts to prepare the next generation of inventors and entrepreneurs. Their work focuses on the expansion of opportunities for young people to understand how inventors identify and address meaningful problems.
Over the past 25 years, LMIT has assisted numerous students and educators in embracing the art of invention. They have also bestowed recognition upon numerous inventors in higher education and the mid-career stages. Their research provides compelling proof that their innovative, interdisciplinary problem-solving approach, known as invention education, empowers students from diverse backgrounds to cultivate interest, confidence, and proficiency in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The Lemelson-MIT Program works with a select group of experienced InvenTeam educators who provide peer-to-peer support for InvenTeam educators during their grant year.
