Methods and Devices for Recycling of Combustion Ash

Exclusively Licensed

This invention concerns methods, devices, materials, and systems for extracting valuable components from ash that is the product of a combustion process in general, and MSW or power plant ash specifically.  The invention uses acidic and/or basic solutions produced through electrochemical reactions, with or without the additional benefit of heat.  The two sources of energy most widely available at WTE facilities are electricity and heat resulting from the operation of the plant itself.  For the purposes of the invention, however, electricity can be provided from any source, including grid electricity and intermittent renewable electricity.
