Background and Experience
Maria is a recent graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and Duke University through the Robertson Scholars Leadership Program. She received a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Statistics from UNC Chapel Hill, as well as a minor in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics from Duke.
Her most recently experience as an undergraduate researcher in the Stein Lab and Furey Lab at UNC, she studied cortical organoid development and inflammatory bowel disease genetics using computational approaches. She also worked as an Associate Consultant Intern at Simon-Kucher, focusing on healthcare and life sciences strategy. Maria is especially interested in the intersection of biotech, innovation, intellectual property, and legal strategy.
