Layer-by-layer deposition involves alternating adsorption of soluble or dispersible components that exhibit complementary interactions to the substrate and to each other. In this manner, films can be deposited by dip, spin, and spray coating from solutions of polycations, polyiions, positively and negatively charged particles or micelles, and components that interact via hydrogen or covalent bonding. This film consists of poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO), graphene oxide (GO), poly (acrylic acid) (PAA), and mono or bifunctional poly (ethylene oxide) trialkoxysilane.
